Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life by Randy Travis
Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life by Randy Travis is On May 14th I unfortunately suffered a personal tragedy that would change a lot of things and bring me down to a really low level. But on the very same day I stepped outside my door and down at my feet was this book packaged up thatâd Iâd pre-ordered months prior. At first I set the book aside in attempt to gather myself before Iâd even consider trying to give a book the time of day, but I kept eyeing it until I decided to read the description, then I told myself âJust a few pages then!â..Then I found myself reading this book even on quick lunch breaks from work or any time I got the chance. I just finished the book and I feel like Iâve gained a new friend. This book is excellent - especially for any person who absolutely loves classic country music and had the privilege of getting to blast Randy on their radios in the late 80âs and the 90âs.You learn a lot from this book - about Randyâs unfortunate doomed-from-the-start relationship with a woman named Lib who I sincerely believe used Randy and dried him of his finances, an up close and personal view of his musical career, all of the wonderful people he met and some of his less proud moments. You also get a taste of what itâs been like for Randy after his stroke and his loving relationship with Mary, who has been his rock. This book is absolutely wonderful and absolutely worth the buy. Randy has made such an impact on the Country music world with his beautiful songs and unique voice and even though things have changed after his medical setback, itâs a beautiful thing that he is still here with us and is such a fighter. Randy Travis is a true inspiration and so many people love him. This book has been a great comfort to me and despite the fact that I had no desire to really read ANYTHING after my upsetting personal drawback, I just couldnât help myself. I felt like Randy was sitting there reading it directly to me and telling me his story in that standout voice of his.
Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life by Randy Travis is I would have rated this a TEN if I could have. I enjoyed reading this book more than any of the nearly hundreds of books I have read. I saw him in concert and loved him as a singer and great performer. He was so friendly and a great person. I wish him well and hope I get to see him sing again. Everyone who loves country music should read this book. I learned how hard it must be for all Artists performing our there. Thank you Randy and Mary so much for writing this book. Good job!!!!
Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life by Randy Travis is I cannot say just how much I enjoyed this book being a fan since I heard the first released single to present day. The first half was like walking down memory lane.Over all the years I read every article that I could find and watched all TV interviews that I knew about. So many of the names that helped or worked with Randy were familiar to me. I attended 30 shows in various venues over the years. The second half was so interesting. Yes we knew some of the story, but not all of the story.I admire a Randy and Maryâs faith and determination to keep fighting. I wonder if I could have done the same?By the way Randy, just to let you know I loved The Wind in the Wire Tv show and the CD.You have brought me much enjoyment with your talent over the years and I will always be a Fan.Keep up the good work God Bless both of you.
Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life by Randy Travis is Oh my gosh! I enjoyed this book from front to back cover! I had the opportunity to see Randy sing a few years back and became an even bigger fan! Itâs a shame what wife #1 ended up treating Randy the way she did. Itâs just too bad he didnât recognize her evil ways sooner.Thank goodness for Mary! The tabloids painted her as a home wrecker, but she has stood by Randy every step of the way throughout his recovery. It takes a very special person to do what she has done for Randy. Iâm so grateful he continues to recover and enjoy the love from those who really matter and care about him.
