Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2 by Square Enix is I was very excited for the second volume of this series! It's a beautifully done book and I am glad it is being published! However, as usual, shipping has been horrible and the book has come damaged. I will just purchase in store. Shipping has never had enough packin and literally half the packing had no air inside.
Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2 by Square Enix is It’s a bit disappointing if you’re a fan of VIII. The content in this book pertaining to VIII is less than half of the amount of content it has for VII and IX. No early designs, nothing behind the scenes, just artwork and character bios. Good content for the other games, though.
Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2 by Square Enix is I've been waiting for this to come out to get as a keepsake, as these games were the heart of my childhood. Overall it's a great Volume, especially for fans of VII and IX. For a fan like me however, who likes those two games, but love VIII, I feel like we drew the short straw yet again. Both 7 and 9 have tons of info like character sketches at different stages, and other tidbits of info that are completely omitted from 8, and as a fan that's disheartening.If you are buying this as a solid fan of FF VIII, just be aware that compared to the other two sections, there isn't that much material by comparison. They could have and should have included more, where 8 is concerned, and gone more in depth like they did with the others. As it stands, I feel that particular section just got a very bare bones inclusion.Shipping wise mine arrived in pristine condition with no dents or dings. Great quality paper and printing. Included a few pics as a sample.
Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2 by Square Enix is Maybe, this book is one of those products that I would have enjoyed more when the games originally came out. With that said, this book is still high quality in both presentation and the illustrations. I'm hoping that they continue making these volumes after the next one, and I hope that Dark Horse starts including the spinoff games in the series such as FF Tactics. Anyway, I wish they would have had art over the battle systems, more developmental artwork, and not looked so much like a game guide, y'know? For the content that is here, it's nice. The printing and paper grade is top notch, and you can tell they didn't just slap this book together.I do have a gripe, though. This is the fifth or sixth Dark Horse art book I've ordered in the past three weeks, and it came dinged and bent like the others. It's not bad-bad, but I expected sharp corners. Amazon needs to pack their books as well as they pack the diecast cars they sell and slap "Fragile!" stickers on the shipping boxes. Unfortunately, I don't have time to send it back to get another one, especially with Christmas coming up. Learn how to ship books, Amazon.
